Good people of Oppo, dependent on it still being for sale Saturday, the insurance being affordable, and a mechanical engineer looking it over, I am planning on buying this:

Vin: WBADD5328VBV50684 if someone is able to run an autocheck
Thanks!

With mileage that high, I’d be very careful.

Why said engineer is going along, he bought a house because it had 2 polebarns for his car projects. That being said, as long as the timing chain & guides & tensioners are OK, I’m not going to be too worried.

Thoroughly inspect the cooling system as well, they seem to like destroying those!

Well the ABS and traction control lights are on so that’s a can of worms you gotta open right there. Hopefully something simple like a wheel speed sensor.
Mileage is up there a bit I’d say, but if it’s well taken care of you should be fine.

I researched the issue, the ‘97 models have the ABS computer in the glovebox instead of under hood.. if something more, I’ll live without ABS

yes, BMW’s and their cooling systems, most of them were shit in that department

Oh trust me, I have plenty of experience with BMWs cooling system issues. I only dealt with them for like 2 ½ years :(

“Near perfect”
Minus the ABS, ASC lights. Mine are on as well and it seems the common culprits is ABS modules ($200).
“No accidents”
Except, you know, when it was rear ended...
Also... Since the picture was taken dead on in the middle of the gauge cluster, it looks like it’s running a bit warm.
My 530i has been extremelyreliable. In the 80,000 miles I’ve had it, I’ve only replaced an alternator, thermostat, and a coolant bleed screw.
This looks like a good deal. Go for it.

I bought one in November that was identical in every way (including mileage) except it’s black and I have been incredibly happy so far. It looks and feels like a car with half the mileage.
Be careful, though. Parts are gonna be expensive . I get off easy because my parents run a garage and I can get them wholesale, and I’m knowledgeable enough to do most work myself. Labor alone for a clutch and flywheel is almost $2,000.

Bad wheel speed sensors, most likely. Mine had two dead ones when I got it,and if you look on forums it seems to be a common issue.

Can you get it to work with this one? I can’t get anything myself.

I had a little bit of a laugh when I saw the rear end in 2000...though at this point, it still looks really clean (he texted me pictures of the rear/trunk area. No Rust Anywhere!

The Clutch was done recently, so it should be fine

Check long and hard for oil leaks. A good place to start is the swaybar because oil drips right onto it.
